YOGIC WAY OF LIFE
Sri K Mohan Rao, the Director Hiflame Private Ltd., Mysore, is himself a YOGA practitioner. In his industry as well, he took "YOGA" as one of the curriculams - to be practised everyday for half an hour in every shift. Overall experience is:
1. Yoga is helping all the workmen in their alround personality development at physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual levels.
2. The spirit of team-work has increased appreciably.
3. All the workmen shed their bad thoughts & habits and work for profit, quality and higher earnings. They are attuned to new dimensions of life, living and working together.
4. This is the 30th year of company's activities. No strikes or labour unrest.
5. No absenteeism and hardly any sick leave. No cases of BP/diabetes/cholestrol amongst workmen.
6. Some 15 persons who have been trained in yoga /SMET, continue to serve our Company. They also undertake yoga classes for others in the town.
7. The quality of mind is moulding towards positive thinking. Their family members recognize the changes in the individual behavior which has been confirmed by data collected. "Átma Viùvása" level is quite high and productivity levels are excellent.
8. There has not been any accidents inside the factory. Outside the factory one can easily notice improved awareness and relaxed features in individual's personality.

The third annual festival of Bharata Ratna M S Subbalaxmi – Geetanjali 2008 was inaugurated on 15 March 2008 at Mañgala Mandir, Praùánti Kuûèram. Inaugurating the festival HH Sri Jayendrapuri Swamiji stressed that music is one of the path of Bhakti Yoga by which man can achieve the eternity. He said that influenced by MS Subbulaxmi's renowned Bhajagovindam he was to accomplish the goal of life. Justice T Venkatachala praised the contribution of MS Subbalaxmi to the nation in the field of classical music. Smt Radha Vishwanathan daughter of MS Subbalaxmi was decorated with the title of "Sangeeta Ratna" by the chief guest.
Smt Radha Vishwanathan gave a concept of classical music accompanied by Smt Charulatha Ramanujan on Violen, Mysore, Sri H L Shivashankara Swamy on Mødañgam and Smt Sukanya Ramagopal on Ghatam. Kum Ashwarya Srinivasan, great granddaughter of M S Subbulaxmi accompanied her grandmother on the vocal. Majority of the selections of the day were the composions sung by M S Subbulaxmi during her life. The concert was concluded by the well- known composion of Kanchi Paramacharya (Maitrim Bhajathan). The audience were enthralled by the melody that filled the auditorium.
On the second day Smt Sowmya gave the vocal classical Karnataka music accompanied by Smt Charulatha Ramanujam, Vidvan Sudindra and Vidvan K N Ramesh. The event on the second day was a memorable day for all the inmates of Prashanti. Smt Lakshmi, popularly known as Lakshmi Aunty received the award of "Sádhaná Ratna" for her life time achievements in establishing the world-renowned yoga institution, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana. The vibration of the institution has spread over the globe in several countries. The countries dynamic leader, Sri Narendra Modiji, Chief Minister of Gujarat, was the Chief Guest of the day. Remembering his nostalgic experiences of Praùánti, Sri Modiji narrated his association with the institution decades ago. Delivering the keynote address Sri Narendra Modiji addressed the crowded audience that India will one day become the world leader of spirituality. He said India should take lead in curbing terrorism for which the leaders should have the background of the spirituality to achieve the total transformation of the country into Ramarájya. Spirituality and leadership are inseperable, he added. In his welcome address, Dr Nagendra, Vice-chancellor of SVYASA explained the various activities of the university in bringing the Holistic peace and tranquility to world community. Sri B SS Rao, Secretary, Sri Lalitakala Academy Foundation, Mysore, introduced Sri Lakshmi Aunty to the audience. Expressing her gratitude for her award Smt Lakshmi Aunty was emotional in conveying her feelings stating that Lord Sri Rama has come to Prashanti in the form of Sri Narendra Modiji and India should achieve the status of Rama Rájya in the near future under the dynamic leadership of Sri Narendra Modiji. Launching Music therapy in yoga
As a part of the Geetanjali Festival, the maiden venture on music therapy in yoga was inaugurated by Smt Radha Bhaskar editor Samudra Magazine Chennai. Prof Dr C A Sridhar gave the lecture demonstration followed by the questions and answers session. Dr C A Sridhar explained how the sound of music got the resemblance with MSRT (Mind Sound Resonance Technique) in relation with various ragas of Karnataka Music. There were interesting questions from the audience in respect of music therapy for different ailments.
